I am attempting to recover PST files from a laptop that had office
uninstalled.

Is it possible once office has been uninstalled to recover the PST
files?

Have been trying to use Active@ to recover them, it shows a 300MB file
recovered but when opened by outlook there is nothing in there.  is
this because there were previously files in that space and when office
was uninstalled it removed those files but kept the space there?

Thanks

The uninstall process of Office doesn't touch the PST files.

Than where did they go.  if they arent uninstalled when you uninstall
the office suite, the only thing that could have been done is that
they were deleted by the person who had the laptop.  and if thats the
case they should be recoverable by programs but all PST files except
for some archived files are gone

any suggestion on getting them back?

Thanks
