Ok, about a week ago my instant search stopped working. it wasn't because I
have exchange tool's on my pc,..

but the only way it works now is if I go into tools>instant search and
uncheck inbox and restart outlook, it then works just fine slow because it's
indexing but works..

why is this the case seems like you would want the items checked that you
wanted to search, not unchecked..

any thoughts ?
