Duplicate email in Outlook 2002

I use MS Outlook 2002 and have installed all the most recent service packs.
If I check “Leave copy of message on server,” I get a new, duplicate copy of
every email every time I open MS Outlook.   I have confirmed that the problem
is not related to use of Rules.  Un-checking “Leave copy of message on
server”  solves the problem, but that precludes use of a Blackberry.

I have thoroughly researched this problem on Microsoft and other websites.
I found bulletins documenting the exact same problem in MS Outlook 2003
(including a hotfix), but I have found nothing about the problem for Outlook
2002.

Any help would be much appreicated.

Its like you've got two accounts downloading the emails once each (with both
leaving a copy on the server). I'm guessing that your Outlook account
downloads the emails once and your Blackberry downloads the emails also -
these two sets of emails are different (even tho they appear exactly the
same) and when you synchronise your Blackberry with Outlook the two sets of
messages are swapped with each other creating two of each message.

Your Blackberry setup needs to be different.

This problem started the day I installed MS Outlook 2002 -- 2 years before I
got the blackberry.
