Sorry I was wrong, I cannot delete any of my "deleted items folder, I keep
getting "the messaging interface has returned an unknown error"

You don't include enough information for anyone to start troubleshooting.

What version of Outlook?
What type of email account?
What size PST?
What troubleshooting steps have you taken? (scan the PST for errors, check
the Application Event Viewer, etc.)
What is the exact error message (word for word)? Include any error numbers
if there are any.

Have deleted all items in deleted items folder, no success

Now compact the PST.  Right-click the root on the folder list, choose
Properties, click Advanced, and click Compact Now.

no joy, actually I've found I cannot delete my deleted items folder, it comes
up with a message of unknown problem

You should not ever be able to delete a Deleted Items folder.  The option to
delete the Deleted Items folder should never become active.

I think we need the answers to the questions Ms. Orland asked.

I have the same problem.  I uninstalled outlook, reinstalled 2003 archived
deleted and sent e-mails then reinstalled 2007.
Now I get "folder is full" when I try to delete from my inbox.
I have no idea how to check PST files.  I hear it is in office 12 under
office, but which file?
Is this just a bug that has not been fixed?

I'm having the same problem,. Let me know if you get it figured out. It seems
that the problem only comes up when there are a lot of addresses in the "To'
line.
