Operating routinely, my Outlook Express (on Window XP) asked to compact
emails to created more space.  I clicked to do it (as I've done before).
When my Outlook Express restarted, all of my emails (except those in the
deleted file) were gone.  I'm able to send and receive new emails, but there
is no history (except the deleted file).  I tried restoring the system to an
earlier time, but no change.
Is there a way to restore my email history?  Help! Past emails are important.

There is no "express" in the name of this newsgroup.  This newsgroup
discusses the Outlook product.  Outlook Express is an unrelated
program.  For problems with Outlook EXPRESS, post in a newsgroup for
that product.
