Ever since I have installed Kaspersky Anti-virus I find that I cannot close
Outlook archive files in my Outlook 2002. Outlook behaves as if every archive
file is a ghost and returns the error "The operation failed. An object could
not be found." I created a new profile, but this also happens in my new
profile. Any ideas what's happening or how I might solve this?

The first thing you should do is disable the Kapersky integration with
Outlook. It doesn't need to scan your incoming/outgoing emails. Also make
sure that you uncheck any Outlook Add In or COM related to your antivirus.
You may even have to uninstall and reinstall, and make sure when you
configure AV to skip the e-mail integration. This won't compromise your
security, your real time scanner will detect anything it's been updated for.
The next thing I think you should do is, while Outlook is closed, scan your
PST files for errors. Do a file/folder search for scanpst.exe. When it comes
up in the list, double-click on it. Follow the instructions, including
browsing to your PST file(s). Run the scan, if errors are found they will be
repaired. However, you must be able to do a clean run-through with no errors
before you open Outlook again.
When you do create a new profile, don't copy the old one since this can copy
over any errors/issues there may be.

Do you mean I should disable Kaspersky Mail Checker? This is one of my
Outlook add ins.

Yes, though simply disabling may not work. You may actually be forced to
uninstall and then reinstall and not configure the integration with email.
