How can I read news groups from msoutlook?

There are several add-ins you can use, but having tried most of them, they
aren't even as good as Outlook express.
If you add the News command to the Go menu, it will call Outlook express in
Outlook Newsreader mode. Give it a try.

You can't.  Outlook does not support NNTP (Network News Transfer
Protocol).  You use Outlook Express or some other newsreader client.
The "New" button in Outlook calls Outlook Express to do newsgroups.
Outlook Express has its own newsgroups.

So whose NNTP server are you going to use?  Have you read their web
help pages on what are the configuration settings?

You can, actually, via add-ins. (MAPILab do the most well-known one).
However, as I stated in my post, (having tried most of them) they do NOT
perform as well as a proper news reader.

None of which are free (that I have seen).  ak never mentioned if
he/she was willing to pay for the feature to be added to Outlook.

Newshound is the only plug-in that I remember
(http://www.shorelinesoftware.com/index.htm).  Costs $30.  Pretty
pricey when there are several newsreaders for free.

Absolutely.

Use the following command in Run and open OE as a newsreader:
"C:\Program Files\Outlook Express\msimn.exe" /newsonly
