Hi,

I have some serious problem in telling Outlook (2003 Sp3 + latest
patches) not to touch my mail configuration. I am using Thunderbird
but sometimes I need Outlook to access my corporate calendar
(Exchange) - therefore I already disabled the option that Outlook
should register itself as default program for mail, contacts and
calendar.

Unfortunately from time to time (not every start) Outlook ignores this
rule and changes the mailto entry in the registry (HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT
\mailto\shell\open\command).

How do I stop Outlook from destroying my configuration?

What program is listed in Internet Options -> Programs as the e-mail
handler?  Open Outlook and make sure the option to check if it is the
e-mail handler is disabled.  Then go to Internet Options and make sure
TB is selected as the default e-mail handler.  Then in TB, and if it
has the option, enable the option to have it check and resume itself
as the e-mail handler.
