yourr IT guy can't help? what does he get paid for?
Look for and open the archived PST possibly named archive.pst and maybe
hidden.

You can find the default settings under Tools/Options/Advanced
Options/AutoArchiving (or similar).
Additionally, it might be that you have different settings for the Journal
folder. That would be found by a right click on the folder, choose
Properties/AutoArchiving.
