Hello Group,

I'm asking for your assistance with starting in Outlook 2003.  It is a
general question but I'm having trouble getting the info I need.

When starting in Outlook it asks for certain information.  I have just
started a new gmail account and need information from them I guess to
enter in it ask for:

In the box labeled "Name" I know I enter the name I want people to
see.

The next box is "Email address", Is this the gmail account or
something else?

Next, "Incomming Mail Server".  Where so I get this information from
to enter if I have a gmail account?

Next, "Outgoing Mail Server".  Where do I get this information also.

I would appreciate some assistance in getting started in Outlook.
Seems this is the only issue I have.

Thank you in advance group!

Instructions for configuring gmail in Outlook 2003 are here:

You will also need to activate the IMAP service from the settings area
of your gmail account on the web.

For the server information, you will need to contact your ISP or look at their help files on line for assistance.

In addition to the answers previously posted: it is better to configure
Outlook from the Control Panel's Mail applet before opening Outlook for
the first time. You may accidentally download all your Gmail messages
permanently to Outlook, without actually wanting to do that.
