I have changed computers and can not no longer use the old unit.  I have the
HD and can access it through a usb external case.  Unfortunately I didn't
make a .csv file of "Contacts".

How do I retreive my old Contacts file?  Can I copy the file from Outlook in
the Programs folder in the old HD?  If so what is the file name I should look
for and in what folder?

Thanks for the help!

Walt,
With the USB enclosure with old HDD inside, attached to your new PC.
1. Create a folder in your "My Documents" folder, label it something like
Old PST Files.
2. Do a SEARCH for *.PST files on your entire old hard drive. Make sure that
the "Search" includes Hidden Files/Folders.
3. When the search is complete you should have a list of *.PST Files> Then
copy them to the folder that you create in "My Documents". Now if there are
more than one *.PST file with the same name, you will need to change the
name of the file that you already Pasted/Saved, so you do not over write a
previous save file.
4. Open Outlook, I will be using the procedure for Outlook2003, other
versions should have similar procedures.
In Outlook2003> FILE> Open> Outlook Data File> Browse to the folder that you
create in My Documents to hold your old *.PST files. Select one file at a
time> A new Personal folder, and its subfolders will appear in the Outlook
Folder Tree.
5. From that Data File Contact folder you can Copy/Paste the old Contacts
and their information into your Main Contact folder. And any email messages
to your main Personal folder.
6. Then Right click the new "Personal Folder", that you opened> Select to
Close "Personal Folder". You can also leave it in the folder tree, if you so
desire.
7. If you saved multiple *.PST files from the old drive, repeat the process.

If you had your email, Calendar, Contacts in a pst file you should be
able to simply open the pst file on your old hard drive on your new
computer and then move the data to your new pst file.

To load your old pst file do the following:
Tools -> Options -> Mail Setup Tab -> Press the Data Files Button
Then click Add, choose the format of the pst file then browse to the
location of your old pst file on your old hard drive.
