Hi Vanguard, My problem was marked as "answered" so I need to start a new thread. I am using Office 2003 Small Business Edition, operating system is XP Professional. I ran Outlook in Safe Mode and sent attachment to myself and was able to open it okay. But my sister in another state (uses AOL) cannot open it and a friend using her local cable co. in another state can't, either. Under Add-In Manager there were two boxes checked: "Exchange Extensions property pges," and Fax Server Extension." But, there was an option to "install" them so I don't think they're functional. Those were the only add-ons mentioned. Thank you for the info on how to get to them! What is listed under the COM Add-ins button? What message format are you using? DO NOT use RTF. If you use plain text can your friends open the attachment? SORRY! Now there are two threads going for me. I apologize. Uner COM Add-Ins there was the sub "Add-Ins Available: Qurb Outlook Add-In." I don't know what "qurb" means but I don't think it's functional since "available" was highlighted.
