Hi All,

First time on the site.I have a user on Outlook 2003,when replying to
certain emails, outlook 2003 just hangs.I have to go into Task Manager and
kill the process for Outlook.exe cause the CPU is at 100%. I also notice that
Winword.exe appears there even though Word is not open.Sometimes I got to
kill that too.

I tried doing a repair of the PST or OST, no luck.I have the latest
updates(SP3) for Outlook.

Before doing a reinstall, I was wondering if any of you guys or gals out
there have any other suggestions....

thanks in advance.

Try Detect and Repair under the help menu, if you did not install this tool
it will ask for the CD the first time you run it.

Yeah, I had tried the detect and Repair, but it didn't fix the problem.

Tools, Options, Mail format, untick the "use word to edit emails"

Even better, switch to reading/writing in plain text, much safer and users
concentrate on content not on flowery fonts and embellishments etc. etc..

Thanks John. It did help! I was able to click on reply to the email without
having that email hang.

Because the employee has a logo at the end of their signature and they
require to use it in HTML. Besides re installing Outlook, do you know of
another method in which they would be able to keep their present settings?

Sounds to me like a problem with Word Automation.

This is a stab in the dark:

Start menu -> run
Type:
regsvr32 ole32.dll
[enter]
