I have my Outlook 2003 set up with many many subfolders (and sub sub folders)
and have many set not to archive - like client data I want to remain all in
one file. Well - my Outlook is getting really buggy so I thought I would run
a manual archive as I was confident in my diligence to set all the file
permissions correctly.
Well looking at the client folders - the ONE area where I needed it not to
archive - it did. I tried the steps in the help file - import/export and such
to restore it - but while it does some files it doesn't restore my client
files.
I tried a system restore (had never done one before) but that did not undo
this archiving. I just want to step back to last night before I did this -
can anyone help?

File -> Open, select to open an Outlook file (.pst). That would be
the archive .pst file that you created. The archive now opens in
Outlook. Although I archive, I also have Outlook open my archives so
I can still search through them when trying to find old
correspondence. All you have to do is drag the items from the archive
message store to whatever folder you want them in your current message
store.
