Outlook XP (2002) and Office 2007 Home & Student

I am looking to buy Office 2007 H&S to run on a PC that already has Office
Professional XP (2002). We bought Office Pro because we needed Powerpoint,
but this is now in the H&S edition. 2007 H&S doesn't have Outlook, and I
would like to continue using it, especially as my phone syncs with Outlook. I
don't really want to spend double the amount just to get Outlook for a home
PC by buying Office Standard.

The question is, will I still be able to use Outlook XP with Office 2007?
Common sense says I should, but are there any gotchas to stop this working?

TIA

You can still run OL2002 with Office2007 installed (only 1 instance of
Outlook can be installed at a time).  However, you will lose all
integration between Word and Outlook.  Integration requires they be
the same version.  If you never use Word as the e-mail editor to
Outlook or use Word's MailMerge then you probably don't care about
losing integration.

Hmm - I only use mail merge at Christmas, so I can probably work around
that. I do use Word as my email editor, as I prefer the autocorect
functionality. I'd have hoped the same hooks would be there to allow it to
continue, but I can see why they might have to change things between
versions. Not a show-stopper, but slightly annoying nonetheless...
