I would like to delete unread emails (spam and useless emails), but they end
up in the Deleted folder along with useful emails. I only want to keep the
read emails. Is there anyway to delete unread emails from the Deleted folder?
Many thanks from a deluged Outlook 2003 user.

The deleted folder is not the place to keep mail / data you wish to retain

I agree with DL and add that you could learn to use Shift Delete to
permanently Delete.

Hold down the shift key when you delete junk and it will skip the Deleted
folder. I agree that the deleted items folder is not a place to store
anything. Make another folder to store emails you want to keep.
