I just got a new laptop with Vista Home basic preloaded. I installed office pro 2003 and am now having problems with outlook. When I start my computer up and run outlook, it sends and receives fine. however, over time (which varies) I'll click the send / receive button and nothing will happen. It will neither send nor receive. If I go ahead and restart the computer, outlook will work fine, but within time it will do the same thing when I click the send/receive button...nothing. I've added Office's SP3 but still run into the same problem. What's even more challenging is that there's no error message. It simply won't send or receive. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks. how frequently are you hitting the button or have it configured for auto-checks? If you do it too often, you can cause mapi to hang. Keep at least 8 -10 min between checks for best results. When I sync my Moto Q9m phone with my laptop via the verizon software that came with the phone, that's when I begin to have problems with the send/receive function in Outlook. I'll post the problem on Verizon's website and see if they have any suggestions. At the same time, have you heard about this issue with possibly the phone's software compatibility with Vista?
