I am running Vista Ultimate with SP1 and Office Ultimate 2007 also with SP1
and all Microsoft updates.
For some time now (prior to installing Vista SP1) Outlook 2007 crashes
several times a day whilst I am reading/writing emails or deleting unwanted
emails and I cannot establish what is causing the problem. Vista's Event
Viewer gives the following information:-

Every crash produces the same event ID and the same error messages.
Can anyone please offer a solution to this problem?

I have done further work and established that mso.dll, version
12.0.6213.1000 (the cause of my problem) is definitely an Office SP1 file
but, oddly, I cannot find that file on my system to test whether replacing
it with the old version solves the problem.
I shall continue my personal research.
Good luck with your searches.

Probably in %CommonProgramFiles%\Microsoft Shared\Office12

I have compared the mso.dll located here %CommonProgramFiles%\Microsoft
Shared\Office12 with the mso.dll saved in my Acronis image and they are not
the same. Both have the same version number and date but the saved version
is bigger than the current version - I do not know how that has happened but
I have had crashes with Outlook 2007 open so perhaps that is the reason. I
have replaced the small one with the saved version and can report that
Outlook 2007 is now working without a problem.
Many thanks for your help Brian.

I'm glad the problem seems resolved.
