Why does Outlook run in task manager after I close it?

After I close Outlook, it is still running in task manager. If I open it
again, a 2nd one runs, and so forth. And, it sends each email as many times
as there are programs running in task manager. I have to go to task manager
and close each Outlook that is running in order to truly close it, even if I
shut down my computer. Never had this problem before with XP, but new laptop
has Vista so I'm stumped. Does anyone know how to solve this?

You have some add-in that's keeping Outlook open and not allowing it to
close.  Start here:
