I am running SBS W2K3 R2 with SP2. Exchange is configured to allow an
unlimited amount of email per employee. I have a new wkstn running XP SP2 and
Office 2007. A new employee joined the company and brought a CD with several
.pst files from his previous company. The total size of all the .pst files
combined is probably between 4-5Gb. I started to import them via the import
wizard in Outlook 2007 and failed when the size of the .ost file hit approx
1.9 Gb. What can I do to import all the .pst files into the users mailbox.
So, you already tried connecting the users outlook to exchage, then importing
the Pst files? See if this articls helps you...

The article references Exchange 2007. I have SBS 2003 and Outlook 2007. Is
the article still applicable. tks.

You can delete the OST file since it will recreate when Outlook is opened.
You can also try using File > Open instead of using import.

Does unchecking exchange cached mode have any relevance to this? tks

Hi Allen,
unchecking the cached mode button will remove your .Ost file, which is the
local copy of your exchange data. leaving it checked is generally recommended
unless you are trying to recreate the .ost file due to some troubleshooting.
It's the .ost file that lets you check your old mail when you are
disconnected from the network. Let me doublecheck that article to see if its
applicable to 2003, I assumed 207 for some reason.

You can use the Exmerge tool from Microsoft to import pst files and export
them. It works on 2003. Here's the link.
