since 2006 I have had a large number of contact email adresses put into
Outlook by SALES FORCE when I was using it

these people are not in my contact list. However when I go to send a new
message and type the letter of the 1st name(of current contacts) I get a
number of old contacts that I have to scroll thru

how do I get rid of these unwanted email contacts and just keep what's in my
current contact list ????

You can't make it work that way. You can remove addresses you don't want by
selecting them with your arrow keys and then press Delete on your keyboard.

To only resolve names from your Address Book press CTRL+K
