Hi All,

When I try delete a message in outlook or outlook express, instead of not showing the message shows with a dashed line through it. My service provider claims it is not on thier side. Is there any way to get rid of these deleted messages so I don't need to wade through them everytime I check my mail?

Thanks

You are using an IMAP account and that's how IMAP handles deletion.  It
marks messages so you know they will be deleted, but it doesn't delete them
until you click Edit>Purge Deleted Messages.  Outlook 2007 will purge them
automatically when you change folders.  One way to address the issue is, of
course, to click Edit>Purge Deleted Messages periodically.  Another is to
click View>Arrange By>Current View>Hide Messages Marked for Deletion.
