I recently upgraded to Outlook 2007 from Outlook 2003, but now whenver
I try to do a manual archive using the auto archive settings, the
following error occurs:  The file H:\data\Outlook\filename.pst cannot
be opened.

The error only occurs if I do not currently have the named PST file
loaded in Outlook.  If i open up the PST file before arhiving it works
well.  This is contray to how it use to work with 2003.

Any ideas on why I am getting this error when the archive is not
opened already in Outlook 2007?

In the Mail applet of Control Panel, on the Data Files tab, is that PST
mentioned?

No, only my mailbox itself.

How about in the AutoArchive settings?  Tools>Options>Other>AutoArchive

Did some testing in that area, and it seems the error occurs only if I
DO NOT have the box checked for "Show Archive Folder in Folder List".

Wonder why?  In 2003, that option could be turned off so it wouldn't
keep the archive attached to the client after running through its
process.  Now, with that enabled, i have not manually close the PST
file.
