In the "Send/Receive Settings - All Accounts" window, I unchecked "Send mail
items" in the "Account Options" section of the window for one of my accounts,
but  it still sends mail from that account.

When you uncheck this option, it means Outlook won't send emails from that
account when you click the Send/Receive button. It doesn't mean you won't be
able to send emails from this account at all.

What do you mean? The reason is I have hotmail as my default account, but it
keeps wanting to send my email from my AT&T Yahoo dsl account. Thats why I
tried to disable the sending part of that account. Also, I have all my email
from hotmail forwarded to my AT&T Yahoo DSL account so I can receive audio
notification of my email in outlook 2003 via the DSL pop account settings.
Could this have anything to do with it?

What account do you select, when you create a new mail? If you select AT&T
Yahoo, Outlook will try to send email from that account regardless if you
disabled sending from it in Options.
