alt+f12 key not working in outlook 2007

i am trying to assign a short cut key "alt+f12" to insert a symbol "é" in
outlook 2007 - but for some unknow reason it does not work. can some one
please help me.

You'd be better off, in my opinion, to download a character composer like
AllChars (http://allchars.zwolnet.com/),  That way, you can press Ctrl, then
an "e", then an apostrophe to produce "é".
