That's the error I am getting (in the subject line) when try to send to a
distribution list.

But you provided no information. That's why you got no answers.
State the mail transport type.
State how you created the DL and where it resides.
State by which method you are selecting the recipient.
State the precise error message.
State whether this DL ever worked.

Mail Transport Type - not sure what you mean, but this is an IMAP account.
DL was created in Address Book. I removed OL and had to re-install. All DLs that I had worked perfectly before the uninstall.
All emails in the DL are of individuals in the Address Book; individual emails to these people work fine.
The precise error - "An unexpected error has occurred"

Did you ever solve this?  We have the same problem (error message - "An
unexpected error has occurred" shown in a Word dialogue box) when trying to
send and email to two different distribution lists.
