Outlook 2007 on Vista 32-bit Ultimate.

As of recently, the rules I've used for ages suddenly started behaving
erratically. Sometimes they run, sometimes they run only partly "missing" a
few mails, even though they satisfy the rule conditions. If I then run the
rules manually, the remaining mails are processed correctly.

Anyone knows why is this?

Sounds like corruption, have you tried rebuilding the rules? Were the rules
created in an earlier version of Outlook? Are you still accessing your
mailbox from older versions of Outlook? Starting Outlook w the cleanrules
switch would be a good place to start and then rebuild all the rules from
scratch.

It's recommended that you create a new Profile for Outlook 2007.

Thank you both for your kind answer. I am aware of the issues which may
arise upon updating to a newer version of Outlook as well as of those
related to a mix of client-side and server-side rules. However, neither is
applicable in my case. I have a clean installation of Office 2007 on a clean
installation of Vista, both about a year old now. The PC is a standalone, no
servers are accessed, and the same of course applies to Outlook. The only
changes done to the system recently (when the rule problems started) have
been the regular Microsoft updates including the Vista SP1.
