The Outlook send/receive progress notification appears every time i
send/receive a message, interrupting my work.  How can I keep it permanently
closed?  I just got a new laptop but never had this happen before (I use
Outlook 2002).  Thanks-Ilene

Not sure about Outlook 2002, but for Outlook 2003 there's a checkbox
in the in the send/receive progress dialog to minimize that dialog.
Further you might check Extras > Options > E-Mail Setup > Send /
Receive...

working...it still appears.  Thanks so much-Ilene

That is the 'Show Progress' selection in the Send-Receive settings. Uncheck it.
