you can reset the navpane but it will delete all shortcuts.
at start menu run type
outlook.exe /resetnavpane

thanks .. yes, I came across that switch but was hoping I wouldn't have to do
it...
I've migrated the User's settings using BDD and will attempt to reapply on
another computer to see if that works... it's a bit of a stretch but it's all
I can think of at this point... I was hoping there might be a way of
exporting the shortcuts to a text file ...
I recommend people not use shortcuts through Outlook.. this is not the first
time I've had issues similiar to this..

BDD migration brought the issue over with it... it appears there is no way to
repair this and will have to delete the xml file associated with shortcuts or
use the /resetnavpane switch. If anyone comes across a way of exporting
their shortcuts out of Outlook, please let me know... thanks.
