I have a folder called Active Project in which I have all my active items
grouped in various folders.  It would be a real help if I could color code
the files that are urgent so I can tell at a glance which project needs to be
worked next.

Just use the flags with differnt colors. Rename the flags as "priority 1",
"priority 2" etc.
