I use Outlook 2007 with Vista. In my old Outlook 2003, I could see an icon
of the profile of two heads when an appointment was also a meeting. Now, I
cannot tell that I've invited anyone unless I specifically open the
appointment. Is there a setting that I can change so that the icon will show?

I'm not sure but I don't think so but in list views you can add the
required/optional attendees to see which items have attendees and are
therefore meetings.
