Hello,

I am trying to send Read-Only Word and Excel files in Outlook 2003.

But the moment I attach the file to the e-mail, the Read-Only access is getting disabled. If I click and open the file, then it is allowing me to freely edit and save without prompting me to save another copy like it should.

What gives?

Dear Marc,

you can only protect this files with a password.

"Help protect Word 2002 and Excel 2002 files with passwords"
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/help/HA010429211033.aspx

It is the same with Office 2003 documents.

Maybe it helps.

Why not scan to PDF or TIFF?
