Describe your symptoms in detail, being sure to include your Outlook version
and account type(s) in the problem description.

When i start outlook it starts the send receive tasks. Receive is ok.
It tries to send something. There is nothing in the outbox. It will error
out and give the 0x80042109 unable to connect to your outgoing (smtp) email
server.
Also when i compose and send an email it automatically goes to out box it
didnt do this before. It never is succesfully sent, i cannot send email from
outlook. i have looked at my smtp and pop3 settings from my isp comcast.net
and it looks correct. comcast does not support outlook only oe.
thanks for your help

Can you use a command prompt window to telnet to the server and port? Open
a command prompt window and enter
telnet <server> <port>
where <server> and <port> are, respectively, the name of the server and the
number of the port Comcast provides. What do you see?
