As I said, the password list is not for retrieving lost passwords. You can
see which type of passwords you have remembered in your Windows Account
configuration in Control Panel. Look for "Manage your network passwords" or
something similar.
I'm not sure what you are trying to achieve here. Do you want to add, change
or remove a password from a current pst-file? I don't see the relation for
creating another pst-file in what you are trying to achieve.
If you are trying to access a pst-file for which you have lost your password
you can try the following tool for ANSI formatted pst-files;
http://www.howto-outlook.com/faq/passwordonpst.htm
If that fails, you'll need a 3rd party commercial recovery tool such as;

Again thanks your prompt reply. One problem is that I don't understand how
the two addtional psts files open without a prompt for a password.
secondly I sync my psts on my desktop to my laptop using easy2sync for
outlook (have yet to look at MS's new sync toy to see if any better/eaiser)
and there is where I'm being asked for a password. Again I've tried my usual
9-10 passwords I use but no good.
I was only thinking exporting the data to new psts in case I could not solve
this password problem. Syncing desktop to laptop IS VERY IMPORTANT to me
I will try your suggestions and revert.
again Thanks
