How is this an Outlook question?

You better ask that in one of the Word groups.

Read the lease to determine how they demand that they receive notice.
It is likely that you will need to write them a letter (as you deduced).
There is nothing special you need to include other than simply telling
them that you will not be renewing the lease.  Give them the address and
account number, too.  You know, you could just call them to find out
what they consider adequate documentation with a leave non-renewal
letter.

What, you thought you were going to send them e-mail (and that such
notification would be legal) because you asked your question in an
Outlook newsgroup?
