Outlook 2007 under Vista does not close properly

My Outlook 2007 (SP1) running under Vista (SP1) does not close properly every
3rd or 4th time it is opened.

After closing Outlook, Task Manager shows it is still running as a “Process”
(about 28MB), but not as an “Application”, so the fact that it is still
running is hidden.  Then, trying to start Outlook fails, and I see 2
Outlook.exe instances in “Processes”, one about 28MB the other about 3MB.  I
have to do an “End Process” for both of those before I can use Outlook again.

I see in another thread that starting Outlook in the  "Inbox" helped one
user.  That is where my Outlook 2007 starts, so it's not a fix for this
problem.

Solutions, anyone?

Do you have any software that might hold Outlook open and keep it running in
the background? Synch software for a handheld, FAX software, AV actively
scanning incoming/outgoing email, etc.? Check your Add Ins and COMS as well
for those that might be incompatible with your version of Outlook.

Hello Kathleen...

Thanks for the quick post.  Here are some answers:

Sync software:  No
Fax sofware:  No
AV software:  Yes, part of Computer Associates security suite provided by
Time Warner cable ISP. See list below.

Active Applications Add-Ins (all COM):
*Microsoft Exchange Unified Messaging
*Microsoft Office SharePoint Server Colleague Import
*Microsoft Outlook Mobile Service
*Microsoft VBA for Outlook Addin
*OutlookAddin (Cyberlink)
*PDFMOutlook (Adobe)
*Qurb Outlook Add-In (see above AV software)
*Send to Bluetooth
*Windows Search Email Indexer

Inactive Application Add-Ins (COM):
*Calendar Gadget for Windows SideShow

Disabled Application Add-Ins:
*None

Do any of these look like they might cause the problem?  If so, hould I try
disabling them one-by-one?

Thanks!

This could do it.

I will try deleting them one at a time to see if that solves the problem.
The one I have an issue with deleting is Qurb, which is my spyware/anti-virus
screen.

Thanks!
