Hm, suddenly (like this afternoon) my Outlook 2003 quit saving appointments.
When I try to save an appointment, an error message pops up that says "Could
not save item."  I can't open or edit any existing appointments either.

Any suggestions?

Do you sync to a PDA? Close both Outlook and the sync application and
uncradle the PDA. Now start Outlook without the sync application and see if
it works now.

Robert, that sure did work!  Thank you!!!

Do you think this will happen again, or is it just a one time thing?

I have had the same problem constantly with outlook. It fixes itself after
reboot, however, I am getting sick of rebooting all the time. Is there a way
of fixing this?

Thanks
Glen

What add-in do you have installed for Outlook?
What version of Outlook are you using?
What type of mail account do you use?
Do you have a PDA connected to your computer?

Same problem here. Starting yesterday I can't creat new appointments in
Outlook Professional 2003. No add-ins, no PDA. Rebooting does not correct the
problem. I even tried the detect and repair tool and it still isn't working.

This problem just started for me too.  When I try to enter an appointment I
get this anoying window "Could not save item. The form required to view this
message cannot be displayed. Contact Administrator"

I downloaded all the service packs, rebooted and nothing helps.  Please, is
there a solution to this.

Hey try this.  I kept fooling around and this worked (at least for now).
Follow this
Tools-Options-Other--Advanced-Custom Form-Manage Form
There should be a form with two sides shown on this screen. On the Right
side the top panel should have "personal form" in the box. In the box below
make sure it has "appointment" chosen. Then click the "set" botton.  Then go
to the left side of the screen and click "set".  When you click Set on the
right side "appointment" should appear on the left side.   For good measure I
also clicked the clear the Cache box.  I then exited and I can now enter an
appointment.

Good luck.

This is not Microsoft but a peer-to-peer news group.  If you want help from
Microsoft, then call Product Support Services.

Wayne  HELP I went to Tools-Options-Other--Advanced-Custom Form-Manage Form
and there was a form with two sides shown on the screen. On the Right side
the top panel showed "personal form" in the box but the box below was empty.
I was unable to choose "appointment"   Any more suggestions I am going crazy
without my appointments

It should be...especially when there's no fix in the KB.
