Hi. I just bought Outlook 2003 (SP2) because I thought it could do message
threading - i.e. grouping an entire "conversation" with someone together.
But it doesn't look like you can. When you choose VIEW / ARRANGE BY /
CONVERSATION, Outlook does indeed arrange the Inbox by conversation (thread).
However, threads for the conversation from the Sent Items folder are NOT
included.
As a result, I can see only half the conversation, unless the recipient
happened to quote my message to them in their reply - which does not always
happen.
Example:
I send an email to you and I sa "Hi".
You reply back and say"Hi yourself".
I reply back and say "How are you?"
You reply back "I am fine, how are you?"
That's 4 emails. But when I view the conversation I only see 2 emails. My
messages to you don't show. That's not the whole thread.
Am I missing something (hopefully).
Thanx

Yeah . . . Hmm. A clunky work-around because the inbox gets clogged up with
unecessary mail (perhaps it could be filtered out), but thanx for the
suggestion!

views show one folder only - use advanced find if you need to see all
related messages (right click on one message and choose Find, related
messages).

A "useable" solution Diane. Thank you.
The downside is that you can't see the entire continuous thread in a single
window. You have to poke through each mesage in a find window that does not
appear to have a preview window. But like I said; useable.

Within the search results window - choose "View" on the menu and then
"Preview".
