Accessing old files after upgrade to Word 2003

I just upgraded to Word 2003 from an earlier version and now I am unable to
access any of my Word files.  How can I access?  Any help is appreciated.

The message window says "file unavailable"

If you have Norton AntiVirus installed, disable its Office Plug-in.
