Anyone know a way of accessing the default printer's
capabilities - in particular I would like to get minimum
margins and paper sizes supported.

Thanks

John

For paper sizes supported, look at the Paper or Paper Size tab in Page
Setup. The sizes listed there are the ones the printer supports. For minimum
margins, set all margins to 0" on the margins tab. When you click OK, Word
will tell you that one or more margins is outside the printable area and
offer to fix them. Accept the offer and note the settings it provides. Note
that these may be different for portrait and landscape orientation, even
taking rotation into account, and possibly different for different paper
sizes as well.
