unfamiliar w/term 'MRU'. I am using Word 2007 on Vista and trying to delete a
Word document that I don't need anymore.  Thanks for any help.

Most Recently Used. The list of (up to nine) documents at the bottom of the
File menu in previous versions and on the Office button menu in Word 2007.

No longer limited to nine in Word 2007 though and you can now stick pin them
to the MRU.

I was trying to specify that they were limited to nine in previous versions;
I should have specified that the number is (virtually) unlimited in Word
2007.

I think it is limited to 50, but there seems little point listing more than
can fit on the screen without having to scroll.

Word remembers 50 regardless of what you choose (unless you choose zero) but
will only display the lower of the number you choose and what will fit on
the screen - there is no scrolling capability.
