MS word 2007 loses home toolbar when typing

When I start typing in a word 2007 document the "home" tool disappears! This
means that I can't see the icons to bold, underline, indent paragraphs etc.
Anyone see this happen before? How do I fix it??

Seems like you have the Ribbon collapsed. If you double click on a tab it
will exand

Right click the menu bar and uncheck 'minimise the ribbon'
