How can I show the files in alphabetical order when open document

How can I show the files in alphabetical order when I open a document in
Word2007?

They show in alphabetical order by default.

Not mine!  Is there a setting in Windows that must be changed?

Have you clicked on the "Name" field at the top of the box to sort them?

Use File, Open and make sure that you have selected DETAILED View. Then
click on NAME at the top of the Name column. That will sort into
Alphabetical order. Change the View back to List if that is what you prefer.

You can actually sort on the Name field in whatever view you like....at
least, I can here....

Oops. Missed that we are talking about Word 2007. Yes you are correct and
Office 2007 is really using Windows Explorer anyway. It is changing to Date
order that you lose not the name order.

Yes - I think it's great! Just been playing about and discovered the "sort
by groups" and "group by types" and all that sort of stuff!
