Hello,
Using Word X on a powerbook, OSX.3 (Panther).
I cannot seem to get the text to display without very odd spacing
between words. I've tried kern/no kern, and worked with many different
fonts.
Is there a way to get the inter-word spacing to be equivalent
throughout a document or line?

Thanks very much.
Mike

Is this just a display issue, or does it print out with uneven spacing?

If just display, I've found Zoom causes this often--would suggest playing
around with those settings (I think 100% and page width are safe, but
usually changing from that drives me insane for the very reason you cite).

If it *isn't* just a display issue, you probably want to repost in one of
the groups below:

For Mac-specific problems that involve software interactions or installation
issues rather than manipulating Word itself, you are probably better off
re-posting in a Mac newsgroup:

microsoft.public.mac.office
microsoft.public.mac.office.word

FYI,
microsoft.public.mac.office.excel
microsoft.public.mac.office,powerpoint
microsoft.public.mac.office.entourage
Also exist.

You can access these through the MS site, under Support, via Google Groups,
or by setting up a newsreader.  Here's a link on how to configure a
newsreader (e.g. Entourage or Outlook Express, note that URL is broken by
text wrapping)

Dayo,

Thanks for taking the time to reply. I'll repost over there, and see if
I can get any ideas of what's going on.

Meanwhile, the zoom control does seem to help. I'm going back to
Courier 12 pt at about 130% zoom. Not the best, but it works.
