I want to inseet various hyperlinks in one document to
other documents but all of this will be saved onto a CD.
How do I go about doing the linking so that when I make my
link on my computer, it works on somebody else's that is
running it off a CD. The CD will contain this ;index'
documnet (one with all the hyperlinks) and all the source
documents. I', worried that wheh I make the link, that
Word will make it an aboslute rference to the document
e.g. My Computer/File bame'File.doc and thsi path won;'t
be the same on the computers that are running the CD.

Thanks.

You should place the index document and all other documents you link to
in the same directory.  Then you burn this directory on cd.  Normally
when someone uses the index document directly from the cd, this should
work.  They can also copy the directory from the cd to their harddisk.
As long as they keep all documents in the same directory, there should
be no problem.

Hi Er,

Since you don't mention the version of Word you're using, the
answer can only be vague, but: Generally, if the files are in
the same directory or a sub-directory to the document (which
MUST be saved already) Word will create a relative link-path.
You can test this by moving all the documents to a set of
folders on a different drive, before you go to the expense
of burning a CD.
