In the last few days, it's taken my WORD program as much as four or
five minutes to actually start.  This started a few days after I got
an apparently corrupt WORD file from a friend.  I've run virus check,
and it's come up clean, so I don't think I have a virus.
My question is this-- if it was dueto the bad file, what can I do to
restore WORD to full functionality.
Another interesting point-- it is especially slow when I'm online,
even if there are no other applications running.
Thanks!

Question do you have a newer virus check engine? I have run into a situation
where me and my brother had the engine for our virus checker that was
several engine from the most current. Even with the most up to date dat file
for the engine it didn't detect the virus. Once I update the virus checking
engine it found the problem with dat file that came in the box. Moral of the
story always keep up with the most up to date virus checking engine.  Fay

If you are running Norton Anti Virus, their Verisign Certificate has expired
and is causing the problem. Open NAV and disable the Office Plug-in option.
