microsoft word

Can anyone help please ?
I am an o.a.p
This medium is all new to me
I puchased a n XP home version of windows
But on my old computor I had microsoft word before it
crashed
now I dont have it !
Do I have to purchase a nother disk to put on this
or is it on xp?thank you

Word is a separate application that you need to purchase separately.
However, if your word processing needs are fairly basic (just letters or
memos, etc.), then WordPad - that comes as part of Windows - may be
sufficient for your needs. You will find it under, Start, All Programs,
Accessories.
