Background: I created a simple template and used the forms
toolbar for placing several fields throughout the
document. Saved it as "template" Also protected form by
selecting the "lock" icon.

Uexpected results: 1. When I open My Newly Created
Template (Click Start, New Office Document,General,
Template, My Newly Created Template) a white screen
appears with a windows box in the center rather than the
expected My Newly Created Template. 2. In the upper right
corner of this unexpected box two buttons appear: "OK" (is
on top) and "Cancel" (is beneath it). 3. To the left is a
larger, empty, rectangular message box containing a
blinking cursor. 4. If you click "OK" My Newly Created
Template will appear and the box, OK and cancel,
disappear. 5. If you click "Cancel" My Newly Created
Template will appear and the box, OK and cancel, will
disappear.

Desired result: I want to eliminate the unnecessary
objects above (OK, Cancel and the message box) and simply
get straight to the template and begin work without seeing
or clicking "oK" or "Cancel." How to do it? Thanks.

Notes: The template works fine; easy to tab from one field
to the next, etc. All other templates work fine too; just
select, click, and they open straightaway.

Hi Bob,

Open your template and press Alt + F9 to toggle the field codes and
check the document for a FillIn field. It would look something like:
{FILLIN \* MERGEFORMAT}.

Thanks Beth, I deleted that Fillin field and the template
now works as expected.
