Recently ran into a classroom situation where when trying
to delete text,Word asked for confirmation at the bottom
left corner of the window in very small print.  You must
type yes for the program to proceed. Is this a feature
that can be turned off and on. If so, how do I turn it off.
Using 2002 (Word XP)
Thanks.

Sure is. Tools, Options, General tab and deselect both the WordPerfect
options. Microsoft has tried to remove these totally superfluous options but
it caused other problems: so we are stuck with them for the foreseeable
future. Just don't use them!

Terry,

Bless you.  Thanks so much.  It worked.  I'll have a class
of happy students next week.
