I am attempting a word/excel labels merge.  I have done
this many times without problem.  Now, when pulling the
excel data into word, word is removing the firt digit of
the zip code if it is a zero.  In excel, the zip code
column is formatted as a zip code.  I have also tried it
formatted as pretty much every other option (text,
general, custom etc.)  If anyone has any suggestions they
would be greatly appreciated.

Is this Word 2002? If so, you may find you need to connect to Excel using
DDE instead of the default OLEDB, which doesn't preserve the number
formatting applied in Excel. See
